Optometry jobs at Specsavers
Optometrist, Prestatyn, North Wales

Specsavers in Prestatyn are looking for an ambitious and talented Optometrist. We recognise that our people are the key to our success. That’s why, at Specsavers in Prestatyn, we do everything we can to ensure our team get the best from us too – from market-leading training, access to cutting-edge technology and a personal development plan built around you. Become our next Optometrist at Specsavers in Prestatyn – a highly successful store with a great reputation for staff progression and unparalleled support.

About us:
Specsavers began more than 35 years ago with the vision of two optometrists, Doug and Mary Perkins, who set out to provide best-value eyecare to everybody. Their passion for optometry has led Specsavers to become the largest privately-owned optical group in the world, delivering high-quality, affordable optical and hearing care in 10 countries. And it continues to shape the lives and experience of thousands of colleagues who are developing their careers with us across the globe. We are proud of how far we’ve come as a business, now we want to see you grow with us too.

What’s on Offer?

  • Outstanding annual salary based on experience – we can talk more about this at interview
  • A highly-rewarding bonus scheme, which varies across the year
  • Generous holiday allowance of 33 days
  • Private health and dental cover
  • Pension contribution
  • Support with CET
  • Exceptional clinical and professional development opportunities
  • Access to cutting-edge clinical technology such as OCT
  • Autophoropters in each room
  • Long form test rooms
  • Predominantly elderly custom
  • 25 minute testing
  • Testing hours between 9.10am - 4.30pm
  • Recent store refit

Our Optometrists are an integral part of our store management team, so we’re keen to get you up to speed outside the test room too. With ILM courses, Pre-Reg supervision and the Specsavers Partnership scheme (Pathway) all available to explore. Along with your clinical expertise – this will stand you in good stead if you choose to become a store director yourself one day.

Platinum employer
Our store is an accredited Platinum Employer – this means you can expect an exceptional employee experience every single day you work here. The Platinum Employer Scheme is part of the Specsavers drive to become a famous place to work. Stores with this accreditation have been verified on five key employer standards: Recruitment, Performance Management and Reward, Talent Management, Learning and Development and Employee Engagement.

What we’re looking for
Alongside being a qualified and GOC registered Optometrist, we are searching for someone who shares our store’s ethos. Someone who wants to grow, develop and offer exceptional customer care along the way. We want a practitioner who prides themselves on their clinical judgment, that isn’t afraid of a hands-on approach and who is keen to get involved and build rapport with the rest of the team. In summary, we’re looking for a skilled resident Optometrist to join us, be part of the team and assist in driving our practice forward.
