Join our team and be part of our success story at Bodmin Specsavers.

Bodmin Specsavers are keen to recruit an Optometrist who will be a positive addition to their friendly and family-oriented team. At Bodmin, we’re all about pulling together and working as a unit to ensure that each of our valued patients have an excellent experience – and we’re looking for a highly-skilled Optometrist who shares our ethos.

Our award-winning store was established in 2003 and now employs over 30 staff. This includes 3 WOPEC accredited optometrists who carry out MECS, Post Cataract and GAT appointments. The practice also employs 4 pre-reg optometrists.

Although the Bodmin Specsavers has been providing a service to the town of Bodmin for nearly two decades, the store has recently benefitted from a refurbishment that has not only given it a fresh and modern feel but has also created several new facilities that makes this the stand-out opticians in the local area.  The store now has 5 test rooms; fitted with OCT technology, a dispensing room, an Eye Refract room and a brand-new staff room that has been well received by all the employees.

The Role in a Nutshell.

  • Outstanding annual salary based on experience – can be discussed prior to interview
  • A highly-rewarding performance-based bonus scheme
  • Generous holiday allowance of 33 days
  • Private health and dental cover
  • Death in Service
  • Pension contribution
  • Support with CET
  • Relocation bonus if you’re moving
  • Exceptional clinical and professional development opportunities
  • Access to cutting-edge clinical technology such as OCT

With a focus on flexibility, we are open to full-time and part-time applicants and will consider any working pattern to suit you. So, whether you need alternate weekends, we’re open to making it work - but let’s talk about that later.

What we’re looking for

You’ll need to be a qualified and GOC registered Optometrist with drive, passion and the ability to help this growing practice continue to build on its customer-focused culture. To be part of our team, you’ll need to provide that unique blend of customer care and professional excellence – which will make a big impact on the store’s overall success. You’ll need to demonstrate good attention to detail along with a passion for the community. Teamwork also forms a big part of our culture, so the ability to work well with other people is essential. To summarise, we want someone who believes what we believe: in putting the patient first.
