Optical Lab Technician

Are you an experienced Optical Lab Technician looking for a senior role with the opportunity to become a Lab Manager? Look no more

I am currently working with a large, busy multiple in optics who are in need of an experienced Optical Lab Technician, you will be used to a busy, fast-paced environment as this practice currently does 500-600 jobs per week and are looking to increase this, you will have another Lab Technician helping you on a day to day basis and they are looking to upgrade the lab in the near future.

Successful candidates will be joining a hard working, productive team, who have a great reputation in the local community. The ideal candidate for this role will be someone who can competently glaze and is happy working to individual and team targets.

Responsibilities of the Technician

The role will entail glazing to all levels including rimless
Looking after stock and ordering when needed
Managing remakes
Monitoring wastage
Looking after and maintaining equipment
Liaising with dispensing team regarding orders and collections
Dealing with clients on the phone

Requirements of the Technician

At least 2 years of experience as an Technician ideally within a busy lab.
Used to and comfortable with glazing a high level of jobs (currently doing 400-500 a week)
The ability to glaze to all levels.
A friendly and personable demeanour and strong personal work ethic.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Compensation for the Technician

For your efforts a competitive salary of up to £25,000 depending on experience is on offer along with a strong bonus scheme and additional benefits. You will also have the opportunity to receive some further training and join a professional team in a fun and relaxed environment.
