Optical Assistant Position

This is a full time Optical Assistant position working for one of the UK’s largest and most successful optical groups. This company is dedicated offering some of very best training in optics. This busy store is well established and boasts a strong client base of both NHS and private and two days are never the same.

The management team are very team orientated and friendly and the team generally are very sociable with regular external events / occasions to let off steam.

Now is a great time to join them with early next year they are extending the practice to include doubling the clinics and increasing floor space for displays.

Responsibilities of the Optical Assistant

The role will entail the usual optical assistant responsibilities e.g. dispensing glasses to all levels, conducting pre-screen tests, contact lens teaches, frame styling and give patients advice on their options. However, you will be expected to start taking on added responsibility within the practice and keen to learn all aspects of management including NHS compliance, employment law and general admin, as well as how to drive a team and develop individuals to their maximum potential.

Requirements of the Optical Assistant

My client is looking for applicants with at least 1 year of experience as an Optical Assistant ideally within a busy practice but not essential as they have a strong reputation for their training programs. The ability to dispense to all levels is essential with a friendly and personable demeanour and strong personal work ethic. A customer focused approach to your work and the ability to build a strong rapport with customers and colleagues alike.

Compensation for the Optical Assistant.

On offer is very competitive salary of up to £18’000 + bonus & benefits, as well as the continued training opportunities.
