Position- Optometrist

Full Time or Part Time

Join our team and be part of our success story at Rutherglen Specsavers.

Here at Rutherglen Specsavers, we are looking for an Optometrist who can bring something new and exciting to our team. At our store, we’re all about pulling together and working as a unit to ensure that each of our valued patients have an excellent experience – and we’re looking for a highly-skilled Optometrist who shares our ethos.

The Role in a Nutshell.

  • Outstanding annual salary based on experience – we can talk more about this at interview
  • A highly-rewarding performance-based bonus scheme
  • Health and dental cover
  • Pension contribution
  • Support with CET
  • Exceptional clinical and professional development opportunities
  • Access to cutting-edge clinical technology

We are passionate about your clinical development as an optical professional and we are committed to supporting you on extra courses and specialisms that interest you. Whatever your ambitions, we’ll do everything we can to help you be the best clinician you can be.  For those of you who are clinically focussed, you will be pleased to know that Specsavers Rutherglen was one of the original three pathfinding practices that started the Glasgow Integrated Eyecare Project in 2002. This eventually led to the introduction of the new Scottish GOS contract in 2006.

Our forward-thinking store continues to expand and provide the career development opportunities that come with such continued growth. We’re equipped with 3 soon to be 5 test rooms, cutting-edge technology, up-to-date ophthalmic equipment and a strong team, including optical assistants trained in pre and post-screening, so everything is in place to let you focus on what you do best.

This position will take you into the vibrant and cultured city of Glasgow. With excellent transport connections, it’s not uncommon for people to commute from far and wide to be part of our colourful city. There’s something here for everyone, ranging from picturesque parks perfect for families to busy night-life.

Role Requirements

Alongside being a qualified and GOC registered Optometrist, the right person for this position will be confident with a strong worth ethic and a willingness to succeed. You will be passionate about your job and enjoy a busy, sometimes fast-paced, environment. We are looking for an Optometrist who will go the extra mile for our customers. What’s more, someone who encourages their colleagues to do the same. In summary, we’re looking for a high calibre resident Optometrist to join us and assist in driving this excellent practice forward.
