Assistant Manager - Whiteley, Hampshire Role summary

Location: Whiteley, Hampshire

Salary: Competitive basic dependent on experience

Working hours: Full time including weekend work

Role Overview

To assist the Store JVP and management team in the effective running of store operations in order to achieve excellent customer service and business objectives.

About the Role

  • Plan and manage appropriate staffing levels in store
  • Assist the store manager to ensure all staff have personal development plans
  • Assist in conducting regular reviews for all staff
  • Assist in the recruitment and induction of new staff
  • Manage the customer flow in the store effectively
  • Manage visual merchandising effectively
  • Manage cash and stock levels effectively through appropriate procedures
  • Assist the store manager in the implementation and maintenance of performance targets and bonus schemes
  • Support the manager to ensure all staff have the relevant skills
  • Seek for ways to increase sales and decrease costs
  • Implement ad hock projects as required by store manager
  • Meet and exceed all personal and team targets

Your Objectives

  • Achieve excellent Mystery Shopper and Maze scores throughout the store
  • Consistently positive feedback from customers
  • All staff are managed effectively
  • Appropriate staffing levels are maintained
  • Excellent retail standards in store
  • Help the management team to create a positive and energetic retail environment that motivates the team
  • Understand the objectives of the business and how you can assist the Store Manager to achieve them
  • Be an ambassador for the Specsavers brand at all times
