Dispensing Optician - Bedminster
Role summaryLocation: BedminsterSalary: Competitive basic dependent on experienceWorking hours: Full-Time or Part TimeExperience level: Must be a qualified dispensing optician, registered with the GOC Specsavers Bedminster is a large sized store less than 1 mile from Bristol city centre in the quirky suburb of Bedminster. It is just minute’s walk away from the SS Great Britain and Bristol’s famous North Street which boasts independent shops, bakeries, restaurants, cafes, bars and even a brewery and a comedy club! The area is host to lots of festivals annually, not least “Upfest” Europes largest street art and graffiti festival. The large team in the Bedminster store consists of 40 team members. There is a strong history of growth and people development. It has a large employed ophthalmic optician team alongside dispensing opticians, supervisors, optical assistants and a dedicated call centre team. The store is a hearing hub employing hearing aid dispensers and other hearing specialists all trained within the store. Our team travel around a number of the other Bristol stores providing hearing services to their patients. Our team members benefit from our unique status in the region as the only stores aligned to a domiciliary business. Because of this relationship we are able to afford some of our team members the ability to spend days on the road tending to more vulnerable patients as later described in our home visit section. The opportunities are endless in the Bedminster and Winterstoke Road stores. The platinum employer status held is representative of the passion the partners have for people development and the nurturing learning environment created by the stores training and management team. We pride ourselves on people development and on offering all our team members the chance to develop to their maximum potential. For example, the current audiology partner developed from a part time optical assistant to a partner with an audiology degree within a few years. So, if you are interested in being involved in a supportive team, who commit to training their people to be the best they can be, then this may just be the place for you.
