Leightons can offer you a route in with our fantastic Trainee Dispensing Optician Program!
Our industry leading program offers you a full time, paid role as a Trainee Dispensing Optician (TDO) with a guaranteed job as a fully qualified Dispensing Optician at the end of it.
This is a 3-year program to prepare you for your end goal.
What we offer
- “Blended Learning” consisting of distance learning, practice-based learning and block release to the ABDO College in Godersham.
- A full-time paid role whilst you train. 30 hours per week in one of our branches.
- A personal tutor assigned to you for ongoing support.
- Paid accommodation whilst attending college on block release + £15 per day food allowance
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to start a meaningful and rewarding career as well as the opportunity to gain an ABDO (Association of British Dispensing Opticians) fellowship Dispensing Diploma and GOC (General Optical Council) registration. This is a 3-year course so we are looking for devoted and enthusiastic people with an interest in becoming a Dispensing Optician.

- 5 GCSE’s at grade 4-9 (A-C) Including Math’s English and Science
