Optometrist - Elgin Role summary

We are looking for a qualified optometrist with drive and enthusiasm, newly qualified or experienced for our forward thinking store in Elgin. This role would also suit potential applicants who require sponsorship to work in the UK as a Tier 2 visa can be provided.

We know that no matter who you work for, who you work with, and wherever you live in the UK an eye-test, is an eye-test. We can’t tell you that your 25 minutes+ with your patients is any different to anywhere else, however what we can tell you is that we can offer a workplace where you will feel part of a team from day 1 working together to give the best service to our patients. We want you to show us where your talents & interests lie, whether it is in IT, training, marketing, pre-reg supervision, PR, charity work, team building, or simply keeping track of professional matters. We want you to get that little bit extra out of your normal optometrist’s working day, and feel that your contribution matters to us.

The Location

When you step out of the front door at the end of the day, you will find that the North of Scotland is a place where you can truly live and breathe. There’s a different feel to life, a more relaxed pace to your daily life which comes from easy access to some of the most beautiful scenery in the world, the Highlands one way and the Cairngorm mountains the other.  The winter provides plenty of opportunities for winter sports if that is something you currently enjoy or just want to try. Then in the spring, summer and autumn the forests & lochs are lush and filled with wildlife. Along the stunning coastlines there’s scope for walking, fishing, water sports, mountain biking, and there’s even dolphin’s in the Moray Firth. If that’s not enough then cleaner air, less traffic and if you’re lucky and in the right place at the right time, you can see the amazing northern lights in the winter. The standard of housing, schools, healthcare, shopping amenities and recreational facilities are also extremely high.

The Store

The store is in a central high street location and has enjoyed phenomenal growth in the past year, which is down to good teamwork and loyal hardworking employees. This spacious store enjoys 7 air-conditioned consulting rooms & a staff of 45 including the store optometrist director. The store offers excellent service to all patients and has up-to-date ophthalmic equipment including a retinal camera, auto-refractor, NCT, field screeners etc. All pre & post-screening will be carried out for you by clinical or optical assistants and the store also has its own contact lens department. This will allow you to concentrate on carrying out eye examinations to a high standard, and maintain an honest commercial approach to recommending the right products for the right patients.

The Role

All levels of experience will be considered on a temporary or permanent basis, and fixed term contracts will also be considered.
