I am working with an independent practice with a reputation for going the extra mile when it comes to customer service and quality of dispensing. They now require an experienced and outgoing optical assistant to join their small but friendly team to continue the growth of the practice. They are a forward planning practice and as such require someone like minded to be a part of the future of the practice.

Optical Assistant Position

A very exciting opportunity has become available for a customer focused optical assistant who is looking for a full time career move with a high end independent.

This practice is situated in a busy area and has a large and loyal customer base. They have average dispensing of around £350 and require someone who is used to working in this type of practice. They have a very friendly and welcoming team in place, who all work for each other to deliver the highest levels of care possible and they have a very good local reputation for excellence in customer care.
This is a full time testing practice with two optometrists and a qualified dispensing optician manager in place two further dedicated dispensing assistants.

Responsibilities of the Optical Assistant

The role will entail dispensing spectacles to all levels, conducting pre-screen tests and contact lens teaches. You will also be required to carry out frame styling and give patients advice on options. Reception duties and general admin will also be a part of the role and helping with the smooth running of the practice.

Requirements of the Optical Assistant

My client is looking for applicants with at least 5 year of high end experience as an optical assistant ideally within a similar environment as they have a strong reputation to uphold. The ability to dispense to all levels is essential with a friendly and personable demeanour and strong personal work ethic. A customer focused approach to your work and the ability to build a strong rapport with customers and colleagues alike.

Compensation for the Optical Assistant

For your efforts a competitive salary of £18,000 is on offer along with additional benefits. You will also have the opportunity to receive some further training and join a professional team in a fun and relaxed environment.
