Full time position

Specsavers Basingstoke is going through a period of investment and growth; due to continued success they are looking to recruit a Laboratory Technician. This role would suit someone with previous lab experience or someone who wants to pursue a career in the lab, as training will be given.

As an Optical Laboratory Technician, you’ll be preparing customer prescriptions to the highest standards and using the latest computer-controlled equipment. It’s all about providing an excellent single vision glazing service that helps the store to maximise sales and profitability. One day you could be repairing spectacles, the next, you could be glazing and tinting single vision lenses. The important thing is that you’ll be learning all the time – building on your knowledge with the help of your expert colleagues.

An eye for detail is a must. You should also be good with people and able to work as part of a team. You’ll be friendly and organised too, presenting a professional image to customers at all times. Above all, previous experience as a Lab Technician is preferred but training will be given to the right candidate, and be ready to learn more.

You’ve got the skills, experience and the drive. Now you’ve found the business that shares your ambition: welcome to Specsavers. Over almost 30 years, Specsavers have become the number one provider of professional eyecare in the UK – and we don’t intend to stop there. With our outstanding training and ever-growing business, there’s every opportunity to advance and excel.
