Are you an experienced Optical Assistant and looking for something different to the normal shop floor based dispensing take a look at this!!!

I am currently recruiting for a well-established domiciliary opticians who have a split role available, you will be based in Bournemouth as you will be required in the office as a route planner twice a week planning the routes for the domiciliary team. The other 3 days per week you will be joining the domiciliary team going out to care homes and residential houses where you will do all dispensing, frame selection, pre-testing etc.

Hours – Mainly Monday to Friday (some weekend work may be required)
Salary – Up to £18,000 + Car allowance

Responsibilities of the Optical Assistant

Your role will be split between being in the office in Bournemouth twice a week doing admin and route planning around bookings for the domiciliary team and going out 3 times a week with the team being a domiciliary Optical Assistant.
In this role you will be expected to dispense spectacles to all levels, conduct pre-screening tests and undertake contact lens teaches. As well as these clinical duties a certain amount of reception and admin work will be involved within the position to ensure the smooth running of the business.

Requirements of the Optical Assistant

The ideal candidate for this position will have a lot of patience, be sympathetic, hardworking and dependable. You will have a friendly and professional personality that customers can warm to.
You will also have a strong personal skill set and will be looking to increase your optical knowledge.

Compensation for the Optical Assistant

On offer to the right person is a salary of up to £18,000 + a car allowance and the opportunity to work within a relaxed and friendly environment.
Hours/ days are Monday to Friday with some occasional weekend work, normally working 8:30-5:30 but will require flexibility due to the nature of the role.
