Domiciliary Optometrist - Plymouth and Cornwall Role summary

Due to the constant growth of our business, we are now looking for a patient-focussed Domiciliary Optometrist to cover the Plymouth and Cornwall areas.

Specsavers is one of the Country’s leading providers of home sight tests to individuals in their own homes, residential and nursing homes. Each region is growing considerably so there has never been a better time to consider a domiciliary career.

Our Region:

We are a large region scoping from Somerset and Wiltshire, right the way down to Cornwall. We are now looking for an Optometrist to cover Plymouth, Cornwall and surrounding areas, providing a first class eyecare experience alongside our experienced optical assistant to patients unable to get to a store due to physical or mental disability. The majority of our patients (85%) are seen in their own homes with the remaining being seen in local nursing homes.

Given that we are closely linked with the Specsavers Plymouth group of practices, there is also the option to work within a dual role split between working in store and domiciliary if you want the best of both worlds.

The Role:

In this flexible and varied position, you will be travelling throughout the Plymouth and Cornwall with an experienced optical assistant working in partnership. You will provide a professional, personal eye test to our customers, testing using the latest equipment and advising on the best products for them. With Specsavers Home Visits, the patient is our main focus, so with less pressure on test time and targets, you can focus on doing what you do best.

The Package:

In return for your professional expertise and passion, we can offer the following:

• Package up to £75,000 depending on experience
• Company car
• Fuel allowance
• Benefits including dental cover and pension scheme
• Generous five-week holiday entitlement
• Monday to Friday working, NO WEEKENDS, 9am – 5.30pm
• Progression opportunity including support through clinical courses and DJVP directorship pathway
• Part time and full time opportunities available

Flexibility is key, so if you are interested in domiciliary we are open to building a package to suit your needs.
