A very busy, well established practice with a proven record of accomplishment in training and developing with a good presence within the community, are looking to add an Optical Assistant to their team on a full time permanent basis in the Ipswich area.

Optical Assistant Position

A very exciting opportunity has become available for a customer focused Optical Assistant who is looking for a full time career move in the Ipswich area. This practice is situated in a busy location and has a large and loyal customer base. They have a very friendly and welcoming team in place, who all work for each other to deliver the highest levels of care possible and they have a very good local reputation for excellence in customer care.

Responsibilities of the Optical Assistant

The role will entail dispensing spectacles to all levels, conducting pre-screen tests and contact lens teaches. You will also be required to carry out frame styling and give patients advice on options. Reception duties and general admin will also be a part of the role and helping with the smooth running of the practice. To make the job as easy as possible they have all the latest technology in place including iPads and offering some of the biggest brands in frames on the market. As an Optical Assistant you will spend your time on various aspects of meeting your customers’ needs precisely and competently. Their aim is to continually improve the quality of services offered to their customers through staff training, embracing the use of the latest technology and fashion innovation.

Requirements of the Optical Assistant

My client is looking for applicants with at least 1 year of experience as an Optical Assistant ideally within a busy practice and the ability to dispense to all levels is preferred with a friendly and personable demeanour and strong personal work ethic. A customer focused approach to your work and the ability to build a strong rapport with customers and colleagues alike.

Compensation for the Optical Assistant

For your efforts, a competitive salary of £15,500 is on offer + bonus, which is approximately £100 per month and a string of professional courses for you to go on to increase your career aspirations.
