YOU MUST BE A QUALIFIED OPTOMETRIST REGISTERED ON THE GOC.

My client is one of the opticians of choice in the region and as such has an enviable reputation to live up to. They are looking to replace a long serving optometrist on a full time basis to work between two practices.

The practices have 2 test rooms with air conditioned and comfortable work spaces. They have a fully trained support team who do all pre-tests and take your handovers professionally to ensure the patients get the best advice and correct prescription requirements.
In the rooms they have, Trial frames, Slit Lamp including Cameras, Fundus Camera and OCT, all linked to the practice system, Thompson test charts. Currently paper records
Some experience of myopia control with ortho-k or CL would be nice but not essential. They also offer MECS scheme.

Optometrist Position

This is a five-day opportunity with a market leading opticians in prime locations with strong client base.
They are the major opticians in the area and servicing both private and NHS clients and offering a good range of lenses and frames to suit all budgets. They now require a GOC registered optometrist to test to 25 minutes and comfortable doing contact lens work.

Responsibilities of the Optometrist

The role will be delivering eye tests to a high standard with some contact lens work undertaken. You will be expected to make recommendations to patients who will then be passed on to the support team.
You will be flexible with working patterns as there is some weekend working on a rota basis.

Requirements of the Optometrist

You will be GOC registered and full CET accredited and happy to test to 25 minutes and have sound clinical skills and strong commercial awareness.
They are open to any levels of experience as it is more about your commercial awareness and clinical skills. You will have a friendly and personable demeanour and strong personal work ethic. A customer focused approach to your work and the ability to build a strong rapport with customers and colleagues alike.

Compensation for the Optometrist

For your skills and input my client is offering a competitive salary of up to £34,000 – £48,000 basic and a bonus scheme is in place to further enhance your earnings potential and 33 holidays and professional fees paid. You will also have the opportunity for ongoing personal development.

Look forward to hearing from you soon
