About the Store/Technology:

Kirkcaldy is a coastal location with new housing developments expanding in the town. There are excellent schools and sports facilities in the newly developed leisure centre. There is an up and coming café culture and shops in the retail park and High St are easily accessible. It is an easy commute from Edinburgh with regular trains and motorway driving. Yet going slightly further north, you are able to walk in the Falkland hills and be surrounded by countryside and the stunning St Andrews coastline, so Kirkcaldy has a great deal to offer.

This store is a part of the UK's most trusted optical brand and has enjoyed a strong period of growth recently, so as a result are looking to add and strengthen the existing team of around 36. The store itself has 5 testing rooms, this will go up to 6 in the upcoming shop fit. The store currently use technology you would expect from a market leader which includes Humphries fields, Easy field, volk, topcon camera to be replaced with OCT in the upcoming shop fit.

The store itself prides itself on working in a relaxed but professional working environment where there is a culture of learning and supporting each other.

Development:

As an Optometrist you will have the full opportunity for clinical, professional, and personal development, including, but not limited to: WOPEC accreditations, Vision Aid, College of Optometrist Higher certificates, IP, Senior Optometrist progression and management development all sponsored by the store in order to aid your specific career and personal goals. 

Further to this the store has a very close relationship and links with The Queen Margaret Hospital looking after keratoconic patients. The store has a real focus on giving back to the local community and to educate where possible the importance of regular eye examinations.

Role:

As an Optometrist (full or part time, newly qualified or experienced) you will provide an outstanding clinical service by providing world class eye tests and by maintaining an exceptional standard of customer care to all patients and to work closely with the team to ensure clinics run smoothly. Current testing times are 30 minutes.
