Regional Trainer Role summary

Work for an employer that gets the best out of you…

At Specsavers, we like to identify talent and let it thrive – it’s people, not processes, that make our business tick. Looking around and seeing enthusiastic, motivated people can only bring the best out of someone. So why not come and explore your potential with us, whilst helping others to go further too…

Due to internal progression and new store openings, we currently have an excellent opportunity for a Regional Trainer to support our stores across both our South West & East Divisions. This is a delivery focused role, responsible for facilitating a quality and consistent range of practical group workshops, as part of overall blended learning framework. The Regional Trainer will use their facilitation background, customer focus and passion for the craft of training to ensure the learner’s experience is challenging, practical and effective.

The majority of the role will be delivering workshops, however the role also requires evaluation, data analysis, workshop administration and preparation, driving course capacity, self-development, supporting project work and working alongside the key stakeholders to advocate a learning culture.

The Regional Trainer will also support the design and deliver bespoke training for teams, onsite, during new business openings (Optics, Hearcare and Healthcall) across the UK and Ireland.

Desirable skills and experience of the ideal candidate would include:

  • Demonstrable and substantial experience in facilitating effective group workshops.
  • Be a skilled facilitator, able to coach and challenge accredited trainers to continually improve standards.
  • Have technical knowledge of specialist areas such as Optics, Domiciliary or Audiology and/or ability to quickly build knowledge in these areas to ensure credibility across a range of subjects.
  • Possess strong self-management skills and ability to plan and prioritise and manage workload in a flexible manner.
  • Have a genuine passion for leading a change of learning approach in a large business, experienced in the challenges faced and resilient to handle the barriers we will face.
  • Hold a strong understanding and appreciation of learning theory within group facilitation and experiential learning.
  • Strong customer focus and experience of working in a customer focussed business environment.
  • Relevant qualification in Training Delivery and Facilitation or similar.
  • Experience within a franchised or joint/shared venture partner business model.

If you are thinking about a change, shouldn’t you be going somewhere?

Here at Specsavers we are happy to talk flexible working.

Closing date for applications is 2nd May 2019.
