Job Details

Regional Sales Manager job in the North of England and Scotland. Zest Optical are currently looking to recruit a Regional Sales Manager for a leading designer and manufacturer of ophthalmic lenses. You will be responsible for managing a team of 5-7 Account Managers, covering the territory of the North of England and Scotland.

The primary responsibilities will be to develop, build and maintain relationships within specific geographical territory by managing, co-ordinating and directing the activities of a team of Account Managers. In doing so ensuring that sales and margin targets are exceeded, team objectives are met and expenditure remains within budget.

Key responsibilities:

  • Increase overall business (direct and indirect) in the region in accordance with quarterly targets by ensuring that account managers focus their activities on the areas that will ensure they achieve target
  • Build customer relationships and be accountable for day to day sales performance for the region, monitoring service levels in order to develop the business and ensure that the company becomes the preferred supplier
  • Monitor sales activity and customer requirements to enable accurate forecasts of lens volumes to be made for production and logistics departments to ensure that there are sufficient stocks of lenses, consumables and products stocks levels to satisfy customer demand
  • Maintain sales analysis data reporting monthly on product turnover and gross margin to allow development of the sales strategy

The ideal candidate will have significant account management experience in a related field alongside previous experience of managing a team and ability to manage in a positive way. You will also need to be self-motivated and able to motivate others. Also required is a high level of commercial understanding together with an extensive knowledge of Company products and market, customer care and instructional techniques, lens manufacturing processes and sales, financial and market data analysis and reporting.
