My client are a well-known high street independent group with practices across the West Midlands who are constantly looking to improve their portfolio. They have acquired some very good locations with very good reputations for quality and service in strong locations. Their aim is simple, to deliver an ophthalmic dispensing service to a consistently high clinical and customer-service standard, to all their clientele in all locations and with this in mind they now require either a strong Dispensing optician or a very well trained optical assistant.

Qualified Dispensing Optician Position

A very exciting opportunity has become available for a customer focused qualified dispensing optician who is looking for a part time or full time career move with a well-established independent group who are looking to further increase their portfolio.
You will be dispensing to the highest standards with the emphasis on the customer journey and return patronage.

Responsibilities of the Qualified Dispensing Optician

The role will entail dispensing spectacles to all levels, conducting pre-screen tests and contact lens teaches. You will also be required to carry out frame styling and give the best patients advice on options.
You must be presentable and outgoing with commercial awareness and an eye for the fashion cycles.

Requirements of the Qualified Dispensing Optician

My client is looking for applicants who have enthusiasm and passion for optics as well as a customer friendly approach and understanding of ‘what the customer wants’. Experience in a busy independent environment is ideal but not essential. The ability to dispense to all levels is essential with a friendly and personable demeanour and strong personal work ethic.
Because it is a small practice, it is essential you are a team player.
*Full GOC registration and CET requirements up to date.
**They require 3 days per week of Monday, Thursday and Saturday but can be flexible to look at full time with two days in another one of their practices close by.

Compensation for the Qualified Dispensing Optician

They are offering a basic of £24,000 – £26,000 basic + 25 days holiday + bank holidays and working hours of 9am to 5pm for all days.
