EOS Optometrist - Darlington Role summary

Do you ever get tired of carrying out one refraction after another?  If you do, a new and very attractive opportunity has arisen at the Specsavers Darlington store for an EOS specialist Optometrist with a thirst for further development.

The ideal candidate:

The store Directors are keen to talk to Optometrists who have already achieved or are happy to work towards WOPEC qualifications to enable  them to partake in Enhanced Optical Services such as IOP refinement, pre and post  cataract assessment, OHT monitoring, children’s vision screening and Minor Eye Conditions (MECS).

As the stores EOS Specialist Optometrist, you will be expected to lead in the delivery of these services, the implementation of new schemes as they become available and training colleagues in all matters relating to EOS. This is the perfect opportunity for someone with a strong clinical focus.

You will need to have a friendly and accessible manner, be a good communicator with patience and empathy, and be happy working closely as part of a team.

About the store:

Established in 1999, Specsavers Darlington has grown from strength to strength and now employs over 40 staff members and operates out of 6 test rooms. This is an exciting year for the store as it will be undergoing a complete refurbishment that will not only give it a fresh and modern look, but it will also produce 2 extra test rooms. The store will also be investing in OCT technology.

The store currently employs 5 optoms, so there’s always a second opinion and support on hand. Other staff members include 4 dispensing opticians, 1 contact lens optician, 5 laboratory staff and 25 retail staff.

Specsavers Darlington prides itself on working to the highest clinical standards. To maintain these standards, the store Directors invest and support its staff whenever possible.

This is the perfect environment for any Optometrist wanting to develop their career, either clinically or professionally. This includes the funding to gain higher qualifications including College of Optometrists Certificates and Independent Prescribing qualifications.

What’s on offer?

  • Package of up to £60,000 p.a.
  • Relocation package available
  • Flexible working hours. Both part and full time options available
