Specsavers are looking for a driven and dedicated individual for the position of Optometrist based at our Wellington store in Telford, Shropshire.

Our Wellington store are very friendly and pride themselves on their fantastic, highly skilled and supportive team. Their main goals are to provide excellent customer service with quality products and through this have established and retained a large customer base of both Private and NHS customers. Conversion and SPD are important drivers in a business but they recognise there is also more to patient care and encourage their staff to do what is right for their customers. They have been involved in EOS pathways for 4 years offering PEARS, Pre and Post Cataract, Glaucoma Repeat Measures, Children’s Vision Screening and Low Vision Clinics. They expect all of our qualified staff to be accredited for these pathways. Through this established involvement with EOS they are looking to extend their services to include OCT and DVLA screening in 2018.
They are keen to get involved in local and national charities and events. Former Director Martin Skehan has taken part in many long distance runs, cycles and rows to raise money for charity and in 2017 Director Satinder Sidhu travelled to Sierra Leone to support Vision Aid Oversees. This year they are supporting a local homeless charity ‘Manning Place’. They also have a very strong connection with the Shropshire LOC, with their Director Emma Davies sitting on the committee.
Wellington Specsavers is an established, medium sized store in Shropshire.
They are positioned between Telford and Shrewsbury with very easy links to the M54 and the train and bus station is outside their back door. Wellington is a busy market town with several schools and three colleges. There are two local supermarkets and more retail and leisure facilities within a 10-minute car journey. There is also a local hospital with an ophthalmology department of which they have a very good working relationship
They have four test rooms, one short form and 3 long form, all with phoropters and trial frames. They have a dedicated audiology room and on-site lab. All patient interaction is on the ground floor with staff facilities upstairs. They have free onsite, private parking

What you’ll need
You’ll need to be registered with the General Optical Council as a fully qualified optometrist
And be on track to meet the statutory points requirement for Continued Education & Training (CET)
