About Anglia Ruskin University:

Anglia Ruskin is a vibrant workplace and our University is gaining prominence both nationally and internationally. We have ambitious plans for the future and we are determined that our students and staff will realise their full potential. Our main campuses in the cities of Cambridge, Chelmsford and Peterborough have been transformed with major capital investment. With an annual turnover of over £200m, we are a major force for higher education and one of the largest universities in the East of England.

About the role:

We aim to build on our record of successful clinical care in Optometry and Dispensing within our University Eye Clinic by appointing two new Graduate Clinical Optometrists. Our University Eye Clinic is a facility for the teaching of undergraduate Optometry students, as well as for providing specialist vision testing and clinical care directly to the community. We host the Addenbrooke’s Community Paediatric Ophthalmology Service providing care to young children, which now needs to expand.

With a degree, you’ll have relevant experience and General Optical Council (GOC) registration and have an interest in paediatric optometry. You’ll provide optometric services to our paediatric ophthalmology service, support general clinical optometric services to the community and increase the Clinic’s income.  Opportunities for research, as well as supervision of undergraduate student clinics, may also be available.

This appointment is subject to an enhanced level disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service.

We offer an extensive range of benefits including a generous holiday entitlement, occupational pension schemes, training and development opportunities, travel to work scheme and a competitive relocation package.
